Hot town, summer in the city
This started as a photo of a snippet of colorful fabric. I started playing with the basic shapes, and after some digital slicing and dicing it evolved into a sort of simmering, summery skyline. It also reminds me of the ways that we coped with heat waves when I was a kid - putting a bowl of ice in front of the fan to create an "air conditioner", retreating to the movie theater - and in particular, the joy of sliding in to the cool, dark corner store and buying a Big Stick popsicle. Here's hoping you, too, are relishing summer's small joys.
